Dear Teachers/Educators/Parents:
 
The Artist Series is pleased to be able to present you with a new concept that integrates a cross-discipline methodology for teaching math, science, history, and music.
 
The hyperlinks provided below contain lesson plans developed on concepts that relate to our 2011 Artists in Residence, the Mana Saxophone Quartet.  Our curriculum developer has created a series of short (half-hour) study guides that relate to these four disciplines: math, science, history, and music.
 
The study guides target grades 3-5 and are correlated with the Florida State Standards in each of the areas.

About the curriculum designer:

Allegra Booth, Curriculum Developer, is a pianist and studied with Leonidas Lipovetsky at Florida State University.  She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in elementary education with a minor in music from Florida State University and an M.S. in math education from Kennesaw State University.  She has taught elementary education and music education in metro-Atlanta area school districts and has provided curriculum development for industry training projects throughout the US. She is the CEO/founder of Allegro Music Lessons, Inc. in Cumming, Georgia.
